Whenever I am around Princeton I make sure to stop by at the Patel Brothers to stock up on some Indian pantry items. Compared to other Indian groceries this place is large and relatively clean. It gets very crowded on weekends so keep that in mind. They have all sorts of produce, and some even packaged chopped and sliced vegetables for convenience. They also have nice bakery section where they are constantly cranking out fresh rotis; they also have all sorts of savory sides as samosa, kati, and other yummy food. Around the produce section they also have store prepared various curries and they are decently priced. I would say the downside of this market is the space is not well organized especially around the bakery section; and the cashiers tend to be grumpy Oh, also, unlike smaller Indian markets this place does not sell atta flour, basmati, and other flour and rice in smaller bags. I am used to getting basmati in a 5lb bag, but here I bought a 10 lb bag

Patel Brothers has become my go to for all my vegetables and fruit needs.... I have yet to see any out of date, dry, rotten or anything other than first quality produce in my weekly visits. Their bakery department has every Indian snack imaginable with a version of their Pizza being offered for pre order. Dry goods and chutneys are top notch and the frozen section is comprehensive. Patel Brothers is a gem....

Top quality food and specialty items you can get no where else. The new bakery design is gorgeous and the fresh baked goods are even better!

With my ever growing desire to find fantastic cook books, I recently added a few Indian cookbooks and upon looking at my spice collection.. I was seriously lacking, in everything!! I didn't have any of the items needed in the recipe book to try and make dinner. I told Tammy we "Grab a jacket, were heading to Patel Brothers". It isn't a far drive from home, but as we walked in, neither of us knew where to even begin. So I called my girlfriend Poonam and Tammy called her girlfriend Suma and then we split up, each talking on the phone with our friends gathering important "intel" of the items our friends buy as staples in their homes. From vegetables, yogurt and spices to sauces, seasonings and dry items. But then we hit the ice creme and frozen items section and WE wanted everything!!!! We rolled up to the checkout counter with two carts full of delicious essentials. The staff is so friendly and I truly enjoyed talking to a couple of the customers who offered to help me when I couldn't tell which brands I needed. I absolutely love this market, it's clean and well stocked, the prices are very reasonable and with everything I bought, I was quite proud of the dinner I made that night Patel Brothers is definitely my go to market to help me out with learning recipes in my sweet little cookbook.

Patel Brothers has plants, vegetables and fruits that I have never seen. EVER! so that means I am now in a scavenger hunt to identify what these fruits, veggies and herbs are and in the hunt for a treasure map-- I think gastronomists call it a "recipe." Can't wait to come back and make Fusion Colombian -Asian - Indian food.
